Dosing Protocol
AOD-9604 is administered once daily via subcutaneous injection, in the morning before eating. Its fat-metabolising mechanism works best when insulin levels are low, fasting keeps insulin down, which allows AOD-9604 to activate fat-burning receptors without competing signals getting in the way. Think of insulin as a gate that blocks the fat-burning signal. Injecting fasted keeps the gate open.

Recommended Dose Protocol
| Phase | Dose Per Injection | Frequency | Draw Amount |
|---|
| Weeks 1–2 (intro) | 250mcg | 5 on / 2 off | 10 units |
| Weeks 3–12 (maintenance) | 500mcg | 5 on / 2 off | 20 units |
| Advanced (if needed)* | 750mcg* | 5 on / 2 off | 30 units* |
| Rest | rest period | 4 weeks | rest period |
| Repeat as needed | 500mcg | 5 on / 2 off | 20 units |
⚠️ * Titrate up only if needed. Max dose: 750mcg (30 units). Begin at the intro dose and hold for the full intro phase. Advance to the maintenance dose only if the intro dose is well tolerated and additional effect is needed. Do not exceed 750mcg per injection. ⚠️
500mcg/day is the most effective subcutaneous dose identified in AOD-9604 clinical research. Doses above 1mg/day showed no additional metabolic benefit in trials and increased gastrointestinal side effects. The 750mcg advanced option sits within the tested range and should only be considered after a full 12-week maintenance phase at 500mcg with insufficient response. Note: Phase 2b METAOD trial data used oral dosing, subcutaneous protocols use lower doses due to significantly higher bioavailability via injection.
In biohacking forums, 300mcg once daily fasted is the most commonly reported starting dose, with most users settling at 500mcg for the full cycle and rarely needing to advance further.
Administration Timing
AOD-9604 is administered once daily, 30–60 minutes before eating. The fat-burning pathway it activates, beta-3 adrenergic receptor signalling, is amplified when insulin levels are low. Eating raises insulin, which competes with that signal. A consistent fasted morning injection followed by light exercise produces the most reliable results across a full cycle.
- Inject fasted: Wait at least 30–60 minutes after injecting before eating. Food raises insulin, which reduces the lipolytic signal AOD-9604 produces at the receptor level.
- Morning dosing: Morning aligns with naturally lower insulin and a slightly elevated cortisol environment, both support fat mobilisation. Evening dosing is less studied and not recommended as a primary approach.
- Consistent daily timing: Pick a fixed window each morning and hold it across the cycle. Irregular timing reduces the cumulative fat-burning effect over a multi-week protocol.
- Rotate injection sites: With daily injections over a 10–12 week cycle, rotate across the abdomen and outer thighs to prevent localised tissue changes at any one site.
Fasted morning dosing at a consistent time each day produces the most reliable outcomes across a full AOD-9604 cycle.
Notes & Best Practices
- Reconstitute with exactly 2mL BAC water: This vial is formulated for 2mL reconstitution. Using more water dilutes the concentration and makes accurate low-dose draws harder on a standard syringe.
- Do not combine in the same syringe: AOD-9604 should be drawn and administered alone. Mixing with other peptides risks pH incompatibility and degradation of one or both compounds.
- Track vial doses: Log each draw on the vial label so you know exactly how much remains and can plan your next cycle without gaps.
- Discard at 28–30 days post-reconstitution: Peptide potency degrades in solution even when refrigerated. Do not use beyond the 30-day window regardless of remaining volume.
- Rest cycles matter: Include the 4-week rest after 12 weeks of use. Continuous use without a break may reduce receptor sensitivity over time.
High Dosage Side Effects
Taking too much AOD-9604 can increase the likelihood of unwanted side effects. Signs that your dose may be too high include:
- Injection site redness or irritation: Higher doses increase the volume delivered to a single site. Persistent redness or swelling that does not resolve within 24 hours suggests the dose or injection frequency at that site is too high. Rotate sites more systematically.
- Fatigue or lethargy: Some clinical trial participants reported fatigue at doses above 1mg/day. If energy levels drop noticeably and do not recover after a week at the current dose, reduce to 500mcg/day.
- Headache: Reported in a subset of clinical trial participants at higher doses. If it persists across multiple consecutive days, reduce to the intro level and reassess after one week.
- Nausea: Documented at doses above 1mg/day in Phase 2 trials. Reducing to 500mcg/day resolved symptoms in most cases.
If these signs occur, reduce to 250mcg/day and hold for one week before reassessing. If symptoms persist, pause use and consult a healthcare professional.
Low Dosage Side Effects
A dose may be too low if expected effects are absent after several weeks of consistent use. Common indicators include:
- No measurable change in body composition after 4–6 weeks: AOD-9604's primary studied effect is fat reduction. If body fat is unchanged after a full intro-to-maintenance phase at 500mcg/day, first confirm the injection is administered fasted and that reconstitution used exactly 2mL BAC water, both are common reasons for underperformance before dose is considered.
- No change in energy or metabolic rate: Some people notice a modest increase in energy expenditure during AOD-9604 cycles. If this is entirely absent after 4 weeks at maintenance, review timing and fasting protocols before increasing dose.
- No reduction in localised fat depots after 8 weeks: Clinical trials noted reductions in both visceral and subcutaneous fat. If neither improves after 8 weeks at 500mcg/day with correct fasting protocol in place, advancing to 750mcg/day and reassessing after 4 further weeks is consistent with clinical titration approaches.
If these indicators persist, confirm the injection is fasted and reconstitution used exactly 2mL BAC water. If both are correct, advance to 750mcg/day and reassess after 4 weeks.
